She smirked, a brow raising. “Define ‘nothing too big’.”
“I can define what is too big instead. It’s harder describing what isn’t, you know?” he smiled back at her and took a sip of his coffee.
She smirked, a brow raising. “Define ‘nothing too big’.”
“I can define what is too big instead. It’s harder describing what isn’t, you know?” he smiled back at her and took a sip of his coffee.
“Ah, I’ll think about it for a moment.” Brent shrugged as the cashier handed him the beverages, “Mind holding these for a second?” Handing her the coffees he pulled out a wallet and paid for them both before choosing a comfy spot in the corner. After the drinks were set down…
“Would I be better off just using the cash from this?” He asked her, holding the stack full of ten and twenty dollar bills, “Don’t think I want to touch the credit card, it’s already bad enough the son of an itch got his Armani wallet lifted.” Brent took out the cards and grabbed a pen from his pocket a wrote a thank you note saying that he was glad that the owner was kind enough to share his wealth to the people who needed it.
Wrapping cards and the man’s ID in the napkin he wrote the note on, Brent placed it in his pocket. “So I guess after this I’m going to have to drop this off.” He smirked, at least he was trying to make up for all the other wallets he’s picked up and the maxing out of the credit cards he found inside them.
She peered up at the sign for a moment before nodding. “After you.” She gestured to the door, which she opened gladly.
“And c'mon. Tell me. It’s rude t’ keep secrets.”
“Been a rude person all my life. Why stop now?” Brent teased the younger conduit as they stood in line at the near empty cafe, examining the menu. “I’ll take a large coffee, black, 3 sugars. What’s it going to be for you?”
A brow raised at the comment, her azure optics glancing over at him. “Oh really? And why would I not believe you?” She inquired, her lips curling into a smirk.
“Lemme guess… Didja do some like, mind-reading bullshit?”
He shook his head no and smiled, pulling up the hood he had forgotten to put on earlier. “Nothing like that. I’m not a mind reader. Don’t worry about it.” Looking up into the shop window he pointed and said, “This seems like as good a place as any. What do you think?”
